began with a series of observations. In-house capital markets training
was difficult and expensive to develop, deliver, and keep current.
Existing commercial training was mired in an academic, definitional
approach and lacked any sense of the commercial marketplace- often
the source of innovation in the financial markets. Commercial training
courses were focused on the past and not the future, lacking any
real industry metrics on trends that lead to insights into future
innovation. Commercial course offerings often used guest instructors
of inconsistent quality, frequently sponsored by vendors promoting
their own agenda. Despite these challenges and deficiencies, every
capital markets industry survey cited a company's investment in
its people's professional development as either the 1st or 2nd most
important criteria for staff retention and morale.
We recognized the void in the market and had a vision for how to
develop a more effective, pragmatic learning experience.
Every Cline Group course was developed and is taught by entrepreneur
and long time Accenture Capital Markets global industry managing
partner Bill Cline.
Completely new and custom content was created specifically for our
training courses that reflect the experience of a 25 year career
of leadership and innovation in the global financial markets. To
maximize the structural and operational insights necessary for effective
learning, we give course participants plenty of industry facts and
metrics to substantiate conclusions and foster a view to the future.
In doing so, we make extensive use of industry research provided
by leading financial markets research and analysis firm Aite
Group and select organizational bodies such as the World Federation
of Exchanges.
We offer a regularly scheduled 2.5 day course, Challenges, Differentiation,
and Innovation In Financial Markets, that spans the sell side
and buy side industry landscape from the front to back office. These
scheduled courses alternate between New York City and Charleston,
SC and combine effective learning with group and social interaction.
This course is also offered for single companies and are scheduled
at locations worldwide including capital markets outsourcing hubs
such as India and Eastern Europe- where surveys show professional
development is even more important than compensation to mitigate
fast rising attrition rates. In addition, we offer a series of 4
hour deeper dive courses into specific topics that most embody competitive
differentiation and operational excellence in the financial markets,
